Nick Smith, SaxophonistNick Smith, Saxophonist - Teaching

In addition to his performance work, Nick is a freelance teacher of the saxophone and clarinet families.

Nick strives to offer varied teaching programmes based upon the needs of his students.  Tuition can be given at any level, from complete beginner to advanced instrumentalists.
Nick also takes pleasure in teaching the saxophone to students of any age - indeed Nick's current students encompass an age range of over half a century!  It's never too late, or too early, to learn.

Nick's professional bias makes him ideal to teach popular performance styles, such as soul, blues, funk and jazz, as well as 'classical' music styles.  Tuition will focus on the strengths and weaknesses of each student, aiming to make them into a rounded performer in their chosen idiom.

Nick currently teaches at home in the Derby/East Staffs area, charging reasonable rates, typically £20/hour.
He is available to travel to students' homes in the locality to give tuition if visiting lessons are impractical, which does carry additional charges for fuel and travel time.
Alternatively online lesson solutions are available via Skype if distance is an issue.
Nick is fully covered by Musician's Union Third Party Liability insurance, and holds three current CRB enhanced disclosure certificates (at the last count).
